MUADI® - Multimodal Unification of Articulation for Device Interfacing

MUADI® provides efficient means for controlling mobile devices and surface computing systems. MUADI® integrates voice and touch for a holistic control, by design, not as an after thought. MUADI® differs from other HCI (Human-Computer Interface) in what it does not do:

- Unlike most voice recognition systems, MUADI® does not aim to process natural language, at Turing test level. Instead, MUADI® simply treats voice input as a signal, rather than language.

- MUADI® does not force the user to serialize articulation into sequence of alphabets.

By lifting above constraints, MUADI® operates at phonemic level while integrating multiple modalities for a more intuitive and efficient HCI. The advantages become evident with Asian languages, due to bypassing of unnecessary steps. Romanization and pinyin (a process of converting Japanese/Chinese into alphabetic representation) remains mostly as an artifact. These steps can be eliminated through MUADI®.

MUADI® owes homage to Frank Herbert's sci-fi Dune, and owes its name to Muad'Dib of the same opus.
